Integration of Pharmacy at the Tower House Medical Centre, Nailsea, Somerset

The doctors at Nailsea Family Practice had plans in place to extend their premises and APM Healthcare were brought in to advise on the pharmacy options open to them with a view to securing a long term tenant for the premises.
With three pharmacies within relocatable distance and a further contractor who had secured a 100hr pharmacy contract the partners were keen to ensure that the right pharmacy partner was selected to deliver the best level of service to their patients as well as optimise the commercial value for the practice.

What we did

APM Healthcare prepared a detailed business case outlining the various options open to the partners setting out clearly the financial scenarios under all of the options presented.

A managed tender process was undertaken with APM Healthcare preparing a full tender pack securing bids from all key parties in the locality.
Following the tender the APM Healthcare team presented back to the partners further analysis of the options giving the partners a proposal as to how to proceed to achieve their objectives. This led to the establishment of a joint venture pharmacy which is now successfully trading from the new pharmacy unit created at the premise.
APM Healthcare continued to be involved with the provision of a turnkey fit out solution for the new joint venture pharmacy business. We provided a full design and fit out solution for Tower House Pharmacy and the project was managed from the early stages to ensure the client had input into the design and specification of the shell working with the GPs architect.
With the main contractor having been appointed before APM Healthcare were involved we worked with the client, main contractor and their design team to ensure the fit out was integrated and sympathetic to the main design solution for the extension to the medical centre.
The skilled onsite installation team worked with the main contractor to provide a fully fitted unit that exceeded the expectations of the client.
