Haslemere Pharmacy Gets the Gift of Space this Christmas!

The pharmacy at Haslemere Health Centre has just benefited from an internal refit to provide for additional storage space and to increase the size of the pharmacy consulting room.

Since opening in January 2013 the pharmacy has quickly become the pharmacy of choice for local patients due to the integration with the health centre and the high levels of customer service that the pharmacy team provide.

With the high level of demand for their services the pharmacy had begun to struggle for space and APM Healthcare Developments were instructed to look at options to develop additional prescription storage space in the pharmacy as well as enhance the consulting room to allow for a wider range of additional services to be provided.

APM Healthcare worked with the pharmacy and surgery teams to identify a suitable solution which involved extending the back of the pharmacy into part of the surgery administration area. This also involved the reconfiguration of the existing administration area of the surgery.

The APM Healthcare Developments team had to work through several nights to complete the works as both the pharmacy and surgery needed to remain open to serve patients and customers.

Pharmacy Manager Oormi Rahman, said: “The additional space is fantastic and the team at APM worked tirelessly to get the works completed in under a week with as little disruption as possible. As a result of their hard work we now have a pharmacy that can deliver a service to even more patients and we look forward to continuing to grow the business providing a high level of service to the residents and patients of Haslemere.”

Stephanie Ashdown, Practice Manager at Haslemere Health Centre, said: “The work to reconfigure the administration area was completed quickly and without any inconvenience to our staff or patients. I am delighted with the results and even more pleased to see that that pharmacy now has some additional space to enable the pharmacy team to continue to grow the services it offers to our patients.”

The event in Manchester will answer all questions about the current healthcare reform programme which will have a huge impact on the structures and processes of general practices across the UK.

Speakers at the event are carefully selected from an expert panel of magazine contributors and other leading primary care specialists. This year Sue McMillan, Deputy Chief Inspector Primary Medical Services, Care Quality Commissioning will be speaking about CQC Inspections.
