Andrew Murray

Founder and Managing Director of APM Healthcare Limited

Andrew's career has focused on developing and implementing commercial strategies within pharmaceutical and healthcare companies, most recently having founded and developed Assura Pharmacy into the successful business it is today. Through working with highly motivated management teams, Andrew has a proven track record in delivering on agreed targets and driving business growth, resulting in significant returns in very short time frames.

Andrew began his pharmacy career at Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a GP & Hospital Rep before moving to GG Publishing where he helped to establish the pharmacy trade magazine “Pharmacy Business”.  He then moved to Goldshield Healthcare as Marketing Controller before moving to Passion For Life Products Ltd where he introduced a Direct-to-Consumer division of a retail health brands business.  He was then appointed Marketing Director at the Zouche Group, a manufacturer and distributor of VMS products under the Healthy Direct, NatraHealth and NatraVits brands, where he developed and implemented a national marketing strategy that delivered turnover growth from £800k to over £11m in just three years. 

In 2004 Andrew founded Assura Pharmacy where he developed an integrated pharmacy model to create a new generation of innovative pharmacies for the Assura Group, building the business up from zero to 38 pharmacies in less than 5 years, with a turnover exceeding £32m.  During this period he managed over 100 new pharmacy contract applications, relocations, pharmacy tenders and NHS Service Contract bids as well as leading on a number of corporate acquisitions. 

In 2008 he was appointed to the Executive Board as Group Commercial Director for the Assura Group where he had overall responsibility for Property Development & Investments, LIFT, Pharmacy Contracting and NHS Services Contracting. 

In 2009 he left Assura to found APM Healthcare Limited.
